Carrie Lee High Conway

CONWAY, CARRIE LEE Carrie Lee Conway, 94 of Woodway, passed away at a McGregor nursing home. She went to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 11, 2004. Graveside services will be at 11:30am Friday, August 13 at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Mrs. Conway was born May 10, 1910 in Downsville to Jim and Fannie Merritt Hatcher. Carrie married J.D. High in 1924, they owned a furniture store. They had two children, J. L. High Boy High and Diawatha High. High Boy died in 1962 from cancer, J.D. preceded Carrie in death in 1963. In 1966, Carrie married Jack C. Conway, a former baseball player. They worked at the Methodist Home as house parents for seven years. Jack died from a heart attack in 1993. Survivors include daughter, Diawatha Earles of Woodway, granddaughters, Diawanta Darden and husband, Wayne of Waco and Diabrina Earles of Austin; great grandsons, Jamon Newsom of Waco and Darik Snokhous of Austin. Memorials may be made to Autism Research Institute, 4182 Adams Ave., San Diego, CA 92116. She was loved very much and will be missed by her family.
