Carroll Adams Fletcher, age 90, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Ridgecrest Retirement Center in Waco, Texas. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, located at 6101 Bosque Blvd. in Waco, with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow at McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Carroll was born in 1927 in McGregor, Texas, to Bay and Bessie Adams Fletcher. He grew up in McGregor and attended McGregor High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Upon on receiving an honorable discharge, he attended the University of Texas Arlington and earned a degree in industrial engineering. Carroll worked for Texas Power and Light for 37 years and retired in 1987. He was devoted to his wife, Eva Walding Fletcher, for over 55 years. He was a Master Mason with the Crawford Lodge No. 585 for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco, and a member of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. He is survived by his son, Stan Fletcher and wife, Virginia; and grandchildren, Sam, Eric, Ian and Jacqueline.
