Carrolyn Smith Morelan, 74, passed away on July 2, 2018, at St. Catherine’s Center in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 9, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Randall Perry officiating. There will be no visitation. Carrolyn was born November 2, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the daughter of James W. Smith and Carra Mae Smith. She grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and attended Oklahoma State University where she was a feature twirler. After graduation, she married and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and then to the Houston area in 1977, working in banking and title work. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Houston. Carrolyn was an active volunteer for the Lunar Rendezvous Festival, a civic organization supporting the Bay Area. She also enjoyed the Bay Area Potpourri. Carrolyn was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Tara Morelan Jones and husband, Jerod; grandsons, Camden Jones and Weston Jones; and brothers, James W.
