DRIS, CATHERINE “NOULA” Catherine “Noula” Dris, 61, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at her Waco home. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the Holy Archangels Greek Orthodox Monastery in Kendalia, Texas. Presiding clergy will be Archimandrite Dositheos and the Fathers of the Holy Archangels Monastery and Fr. Theodore Tsitsilianos of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Waco, Texas. Catherine was born April 3, 1942, in Tripolis, Greece to George and Rebecca Karamanakos. She graduated high school from Megalopolis, Greece and college in Athens, Greece. She worked as an accountant in Athens, Greece. She married Pete Dris, of Megalopolis, Greece, on July 16, 1967, in Greece. They moved to Waco, Texas and started their family. Catherine assisted her husband with their restaurant and rental property business and was always there for her children. She was involved as a volunteer in community organizations and churches, locally and internationally. Catherine enjoyed helping others and always had a smile to share. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. She is survived by her husband, Pete; daughter, Mary Ann Dris and fiancée, Phillip Kimmel; son, Alex Dris; sister, Mary Vlahiotou and husband, John of Athens, Greece; two brothers, Ales Karamanakos and wife, Efi and Takis Karamanakos an wife, Litsa, of Athens, Greece; four nieces and one nephew, and many beloved friends. Pallbearers will be Angelo Kalantzis, Anthony Augoustakis, George Souliotis, Jimmy Babarakos, Stergos Georgas, Costas Velisiotis, Ed Dryden, and Luke Rosenquist.
