Cecil Cappy Hollis Crow, II August 23, 1934 – December 27, 2007 Cecil Cappy Hollis Crow II, age 73, passed away at home on December 27, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be at the Columbarium at the Church at a later date. Officiating will be the Rev. Frank Mangum and Rev. Chuck Treadwell. Cappy was a fourth generation Wacoan. He is a descendant of William Crow of Virginia, a Captain in the American Revolution of 1776. He worked most of his life in the family cotton related business, Crow Scales Inc, started by his grandfather in 1893. His interests in civic and other activities included St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he served during his youth as Acolyte, and later Chairman of the Board of Christian Education, coordinator of Sunday School Curriculum and as Scoutmaster of Troop 23, earning his Scouter’s Award and Scouter’s Key. Cappy served on the board of directors of the Waco Jaycees where he received the Key Man award twice. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and flew his Beechcraft Bonanza for many years. He was a member of Waco Lodge #92, Scottish Rite, and the Karem Shrine where he was the Ring Candidate winner. Cappy served as president of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Chapter 13. He served on the board of directors of Historic Waco Foundation and the Central Texas Professional Photographers Association where he served as President. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Cappy photographed weddings over 56 years for many a beautiful bride and handsome groom. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Cecil and Nan Warren Crow; his sister, Carolyn Crow Ryan; and his father-in-law, Elliott Bennett. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Pamela Bennett Crow; his beloved son, Bennett Warren Crow; his niece, Jennifer Ryan; and mother-in-law, Mildred Bennett. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
