ROGERS, CHARLES A. Charles A. Rogers, 84, of Ocee, Texas, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, October 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd., with Rev. Rory Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, October 4 at the funeral home. Mr. Rogers was born in Waco on March 2, 1918 to Charles Watson and Jimmie Harp Rogers. He married Janelle Pack in 1943. They were married 59 years and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 26, 2003. Mr. Rogers lived most of his life in the Waco and Speegleville areas. He founded Aquila and Priscilla Tentmakers and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Will Rogers and Guy L. Rogers, and sister, Berenice Rogers. Survivors include his wife, Janelle Rogers of Ocee; daughter, Sharon Hawkins of Stratford, OK; son, Charlie Rogers of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren, Amy Rogers of Cincinnati, OH, Bethany Rogers of Ocee, TX, and Leann Rogers of McLean, TX; brother, James E. Rogers of Alexandria, LA; and numerous other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church. Memorial guestbook at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com.
