Charles Edwin Oliver June 23, 1937 - October 10, 2010 Charles Edwin Oliver, long time resident of Waco and more recently of Pflugerville, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Dr. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Charles was born June 23, 1937, in Loving, Texas to James and Thelma Oliver. He graduated from Graham High School, obtained his bachelor's from Midwestern University and his Master's from Texas A & M. He was a devoted educator and outdoor enthusiast. He was the recipient of a Teacher of the Year Award in 1997. He taught in public schools in north and central Texas. One of his great joys in these later years, and in keeping with his love of education, was working part-time at the Armstrong-Browning Library at Baylor University. Charles became a Christian when he was 12. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Charles was honored to serve as a docent for the Cameron Park Zoo and as a charter member and past officer of the Central Texas Beekeepers Association. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Fort Belknap in New Castle, Texas. He was preceded by his daughter, Linda Oliver and a sister, Roberta Lanen. He is survived by wife of 49 years, June Oliver of Pflugerville, TX; three daughters, Nancy Parker and husband, Jeff, of Wahiawa, Hawaii; Terry Kay Stevens of Round Rock, TX; and Karen Ann Cooper and husband, Chip, of Round Rock; grandchildren, Justin, Shelby and Max Parker, John Holcomb, Jason and Jake Taylor and Matthew Edwin Cooper; sisters, Mary Williams and Betty Pyburn and brothers, James Oliver, Jerry Oliver and Ricky Oliver.
