Charles Evans, III August 15, 1937 - September 1, 2015 Charles Evans, III, of Waco passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Sodalis Elder Living. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 5, at Bosqueville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Charles was born August 15, 1937, in Glendale, California, to Charles Evans, Jr. and Hallie Eugenia McMahan Evans. He graduated from the greatest class ever, the Waco High School Class of 1955. He then graduated from Baylor University in 1959. Charles founded Redwoods, Inc. in 1965 and owned and operated it for 40 years, until his retirement in 2005. Charles' life legacy of hard work and personal integrity will be forever embraced by those who were privileged to know him. Charles was an active member of Bosqueville United Methodist Church and also a long time member of the Rotary Club of Waco. He was also an artist of black and white photography. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Grace and Hallie Burns; and his two sisters, Martha Jean Evans Daneke and Ruth Evans Foulks. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Wood Evans; son, Charles Gregory Evans and wife, Cynthia, of Bosqueville; and daughter, Angela Burns and husband, Jeb, of Aquilla, Texas; grandchildren, Caroline and Cooper Evans and Jubilee Burns; brother-in-law, Langston Wood and wife, Carol; close nephew, Jim Foulks; and many other close family members. Honorary pallbearers will be The Waco High Class of 1955.
