CHARLES LEE WALKER, 81, of The Woodlands formerly of Waco, died Sunday in a hospital in The Woodlands. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Rev. Walter Albers officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 1124 Washington Ave. Mr. Walker was born December 23, 1919, in Watt. He was reared and educated in Mart. He had been a longtime resident of Waco and had lived in The Woodlands for the past year. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during World War II. He married Edna Reuter July 1, 1950 in Waco. Mr. Walker worked for General Tire and Rubber Co for 36 years, retiring in 1981. He was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of SOAR Retirement Club. Survivors include his wife Edna Walker of The Woodlands, two daughters: Mary Nell Jones and her husband Bobby of The Woodlands and Ruthann Parsons and her husband Mark of Athens; two brothers Billy A. Walker and his wife Margie of Robinson and Lyston Walker of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren: Paige Keates and her husband Jeff of Allen and Morgan Jones of College Station.
