Charles Rogers May 17, 1929 – December 9, 2005 Charles Rogers passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 at a local nursing home. Services will be a 9:30 AM on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Barry Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park North Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, Dec. 11 from 6 to 8:00 PM at 1024 Melrose in Waco. Charles was born May 17, 1929 to Cecil and Dorothy Rogers in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated in 1947 from Washington High School and married Alice DeVore, October 11, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. Charles was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1961, graduated from William Jewel College, Liberty, Missouri in 1963, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1966, Fort Worth. He became the Business Administrator at First Baptist Church of Waco from 1966 to 1974. He then moved to Latham Springs Baptist Encampment as the administrator from 1974 to 1994. He was a member and deacon of Highland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Alice; four children, Rick Rogers and wife, Jeannie of Austin; Sandy Ray and husband, Tom of Waco; Chris Rogers and wife, Valerie of West and Scott Rogers and wife, Miriam of Evansville, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Cooper and Karson Rogers, Jeff, Jonathon and Jeremy Rogers, Larren Silver and Kyle and Brandon Ray.
