Charles Talbert Burt April 3, 1924 - October 4, 2009 Charles Talbert Burt of China Spring passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Arlington. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, at First Baptist Church of China Spring with Rev. Michael Copeland and Rev. James Densman officiating. A Masonic burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Charles was born April 3, 1924, in Waco to Charles A. and Charlcie Burt. He retired at VA Hospital after 34 years; Carter Landscape and the City of Waco Parks and Recreation. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Valley Mills Masonic Lodge. Charles was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of China Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosalyn; his son, Charles Thomas Burt; brother, Eugene Burt; and sister, June Smith. He is survived by his wife, Helen Frances Burt; one daughter, Elaine Densman and husband, James; three step-daughters, Carolyn Jeffus, Kathy Gist and Glinda Scott; grandchildren, Sarah, Josh and wife, Cristy, and Mary Rachel Densman; and great granddaughter, Hannah; sisters, Elsie Garrett and Sue Littlepage; and brothers, T.J. and Al Burt. Pallbearers are Brian Burt, Larry Smith, Chuck Carlile, Greg Taggert, Bobby Etheridge and Bobby Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are the Senior Men's Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in China Spring. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of China Spring Building Fund.
