Charles Warren Mcdonald

Charles Warren McDonald passed away on August 15, 2021, in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be on Friday, August 20, at noon in the Rodef Sholom Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19, at 4 pm to 6 pm at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Charles was born in Waco on February 14, 1951. He attended Richfield High School and graduated with a GED. He continued on to numerous higher education routes, resulting in a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston in 1976 and a Jurisprudence degree at Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, CA in 1979. He practiced law in Waco for 41 years and was Board Certified in Criminal Law and Criminal Appellate Law. He was an avid reader of Earl Stanley Gardner, mysteries, military history, and the J.R.R. Tolkien novels, of which he quoted often. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and motorcycles in his garage shop and riding motorcycles. Tolkien said, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” Charles was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Hunter McDonald, and his parents, Charles Milton McDonald and Peggy Joyce DeLaney. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Lee McDonald, his grandson Hunter Preston McDonald Harding, his brother, Joedon Sam DeLaney, his sister Peggy Barron Greenlee and husband, Wayne, his nephew, Morgan Greenlee and wife, Kaitlin and grandnephews, Braxton and Corbin Greenlee. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ASPCA, Charles’ favorite charity.
