PAULING, JR., CHARLIE DANIEL DAN Charlie Daniel Dan Pauling, Jr., age 50, of The Woodlands passed away Monday, November 25, 2002 at his residence. Services will be held at 1:30pm Friday, November 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Community Cemetery in Falls County. Visitation with the family will be one hour before the service. Dan was born October 14, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Charlie D. and Marceille Pauling. Because of his father’s military career, Dan spent much of his childhood living in different areas of the country and Okinawa. He graduated from San Marcos Military Academy in San Marcos, Texas in 1970. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Dan chose a career in the shipping industry and was instrumental in developing The Vessel Shipping Department as Danzas AEI in Houston, where he was Director of Vessel Chartering. His career allowed him to travel world wide and touch many lives wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his father, Maj. C. D. Pauling in 1966. He is survived by his mother, Marceille Pauling of Waco, sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Bill Dunlap of Crawford, nieces, Heather and Holly Dunlap, a host of friends, and his beloved pet, Molly. Dan will be remembered for his dedication to his job, his wonderful sense of humor and his gentle and caring heart. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
