Charlie Mae Hutchison A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charlie Mae Hutchison will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Central Christian Church with the Rev. Brian Coats and the Rev. Steve Mansen officiating. Charlie Mae was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to Albert and Louise Gebhardt Farmer. There, her maternal grandparents established the Gebhardt Bakery, which has since been awarded the Texas Historical Marker designation. Charlie Mae grew up in the bakery, where she learned many of the culinary skills which she so enjoyed sharing with her family. In 1944, Charlie Mae Farmer married Albert L. Hutchison, Jr., and they established their home in Waco, where they raised their two daughters. They were active members of Central Christian Church, where Charlie Mae served as president of Disciples Women and where they were both devoted members of the Crusaders Sunday School Class for over sixty years. Charlie Mae was a devoted loving wife, a supportive nurturing mother, and the very best "Grandmommy" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She received great joy from spending time with her family and left them all with memories that will help fill the void created in their hearts and lives by the completion of her earthly journey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Hutchison, Jr.; and her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Evans and husband, Pat, of Fort Worth and Gay Lynn Hooks and husband, Leonard, of Waco; three grandchildren, Eric Evans and wife, Tabby, of Fort Worth, Brie Keepers and husband, Nick, of Waco and Allyson Blow and husband, Corey, of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Charlotte “Charley” Evans, Bentlee Mae and Drew Keepers, and Maggie and Hudson Blow. The family would like to express their appreciation to Charlie Mae's devoted caregivers, who were so important to her in her final years. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
