Charlotte Spence Dodson

DODSON, CHARLOTTE Charlotte Spence Dodson, 76, of Waco died Monday, September 16, 2002. Services will be held at 3pm Wednesday, September 18 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Wallace Shealy officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Dodson was born March 16, 1926 in Athens, Alabama. She graduated from Athens High School and graduated from Alabama Women’s College in Montevallo, Alabama in 1948 and received her master’s degree from Tulane University. She married Richard Stanton Dodson May 3, 1953 in Houston, Mississippi. He preceded her in death February 1, 2000. Mrs. Dodson was a social worker in Texas and Ohio for many years and was a volunteer literacy instructor at St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she had been a member since 1986. She enjoyed bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society. Survivors include daughters, Dee Dodson Morris of Alexandria, Virginia and Lotte Dodson Bostick and husband, Steve of Crawford, son, Richard Stanton Dodson, Jr. and wife, Fredericka of Richmond, Virginia, grandchildren, Seth Morris of Alexandria, Virginia, and Patrick, Eric, Greg and Blake Bostick all of Crawford, and sister, Judy Kennemer and husband, Dr. Al Kennemer of Del Ray Beach, Florida.
