Cherrye Harris Benadom

BENADOM, CHERRYE HARRIS Cherrye Harris Benadom, 71, of Waco passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11am at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Paul Stripling officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Benadom was born June 16, 1931, in Pineville, Louisiana to Grover C. and Mildred Edith Buse. She married John E. Harris, Sr. in Columbus, Mississippi and lovingly devoted her life to her five children. In Mrs. Benadom’s later years, she enjoyed working with the public and retired from Eye Fashion Optical in 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother. Throughout her life, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include children, J. V. Eichner of Waco, John E. Harris, Jr. of Austin, Delmar C. and husband, Dr. H. H. “Trey” Gerdes, IV of Waco, Rodney T. Harris and wife, Carma of Waco and Jay H. Harris and wife, Janet of Austin; grandchildren, Jennie Colleen Gerdes of Dallas, Herman H. “Hank” Gerdes, IV of Austin, Stan A. Gerdes of Waco, Mindi Harris of Waco, Zachary Harris of College Station, Hillary Ann Harris, Joshua Harris and Mary Katharine Harris of Austin. Pallbearers will be Stan Haddock of Dallas, Dick Rezach of Waco, Don Masten of Waco, and Mrs. Benadom’s grandchildren, Herman H. “Hank” Gerdes, IV, Stan A. Gerdes, and Zachary Harris. Mrs. Benadom’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all those who gave their devoted care during the last few months, especially the physicians and staff of Scott & White, Waco, Providence Hospital, Hospice of Providence and Regent Care Center of Waco.
