Chester L. Thompson, 83, of Waco died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 at Resthaven Cemetery in Corsicana. Services under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 1124 Washington Ave. Mr. Thompson was born May 24, 1919, in Purdon, Texas, to Andrew and Clarence Pool Thompson. He served from 1942 to 1947 in the Naval Coast Guard. Chester was an electrician with Texas Power & Light for 23 years. Upon retiring, he opened Chester Thompson Real Estate and was a real estate broker until his death. He was a workaholic, loved the outdoors, including fishing and hunting, most all sports especially football, and country music. He danced a ''mean'' two-step. Chester enjoyed life in general. He was a good father and friend and will be missed greatly. Survivors include son, Paul W. Thompson of Waco; grandchildren, Holly and David Thompson of Waco; special friend, Linda Rowett of Waco; sisters, Catherine Acres and Dorothy McGraw, both of Corsicana; brothers Waylon Thompson of Purdon and Melvin Thompson of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
