Clara Prichard Russell

Clara Prichard Russell July 25, 1916 - August 2, 2007 Clara Russell of McGregor went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Catherine's Center. The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, at Providence Park/St. Catherine Center Chapel with Rev. James Tippit officiating. The family will be available in the community room for visits after the service. Clara was born July 25, 1916 in Westminster, SC to Alfred and MaryAnne Prichard. Clara graduated from Winthrop College and in 1943 she married Phil Russell. After the war she followed him to California and in 1958 they moved to McGregor, TX. They loved McGregor and were both active in church and civic affairs. Clara served for many years as Secretary of the McGregor Chamber of Commerce and in 1989 was named McGregor Citizen of the Year. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Phil Russell; her son-in-law Dennis Tippit; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Tippit of Robinson; and her two children, James and Leah; a son, Paul and his wife, Machiko of Bloomington, Indiana; and their two children, Joshua and Lilia Nanahko; and six great grandchildren.
