Clarence Elbert Blackman December 21, 1917 - July 11, 2012 Clarence Elbert Blackman or PoPo to his family of Waco passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 16, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Coston officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Clarence was born December 21, 1917, in Coryell County, Texas, to Thomas Lott and Dora Estell Chatham Blackman. He served in World War II and worked for the VA Hospital in Waco for 30-plus years. He loved his family, his church and all his many dear friends. Clarence enjoyed playing dominoes 42 and Chicken Foot. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 63 years and worked in the church office. He was preceded in death by his parents; numerous brothers and sisters; his wife, Morie of 67 years; his son, Robert Blackman; and twin grandsons at birth. He is survived by his son, Clarence Allen Blackman and wife, Judy, of Mesquite, TX; one brother; and three sisters. He is also survived by three granddaughters and their spouses; one grandson; one great granddaughter; and two great grandsons; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
