December 24, 1919 — July 27, 2004

BLACKBURN, CLAUDE Claude L. Bud Blackburn, 84 of Waco, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at a local nursing facility. Services will be at 11:30am Thursday, July 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Michael O. Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, July 28 at the funeral home. Mr. Blackburn was born in Easterly, Texas December 24, 1919. He retired from General Tire after 35 years. He was an avid bible reader. He was a loving and giving father, grandfather, brother and friend and a very good neighbor. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lloyd, Clyde, Wilbur, Boyd, Eddie, Luther, and John. Survivors include daughters, Phyllis Thomason and husband, Ron of Houston, Claudia Lawson of Fort Worth, Patti Young of Houston, and Jacquelyn Selvik of Hewitt; special friend, Mildred Dixon, and her daughter, Marian Funderburk and husband, Emmett, and children, Eric and Holly; sisters, Nina Mae Ferguson, Donna Lou McCahon both of Robinson, Jewell Copeland and husband, Newman of Waco, Edna Pearl Farney and husband, Lloyd of Golinda, and Mary F. Fore of Lorena; grandchildren, Andy Lawson, Carrie Wehring, Katy Avarello, Sarah Young, Massey Lawson, Ben Selvik, Tait Selvik, and Jay Selvik; great grandchildren, Jordan Lane Lawson, Blake Lawson, and Creed Avarello.
