Cleto Stanislaus Soto April 26, 1945 July 30, 2014 Cleto Stanislaus Soto, 69, passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bremond, Texas 76629. Visitation will be 5:00 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas. Cleto grew up in Bremond, Texas, and graduated from Bremond High School in 1964. He proudly served his country in the Navy, receiving a National Defense Service medal and the Vietnam Service medal. Cleto had been a resident of Austin for the past 24 years, where he was a long time member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Cleto retired in 2002, after working 35 years for Southwestern Bell, and then went into business for himself as a telephone and cable installer. Cleto had a love for sports, whether that was cheering loudly with the "Rowdy Crowd" at the Texas Longhorns sporting events or watching his grandchildren play baseball, football and basketball. He also had a passion for golf, being the National Champion of the Pan American Golf Association. In his younger years, Cleto spent many nights coaching his three sons on the Southern Baseball fields, along with many other kids throughout the community. He was unmatched when it came to his loyalty as a friend, and was a true Texas Longhorn fan to the end. Hook 'em Horns!! His sense of humor and generosity will never be forgotten. Cleto leaves behind the mother of his children, llaria Soto; their sons, Chris Soto and his wife, Lori, of New Braunfels, Steve Soto of Waco, and David Soto and his wife, Kenya, of Waco; his six grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Jake, Alyssa, Caden, and Caleb. He is also survived by his mother, Carmen Ortega; brothers, Santos Martinez and his wife, Mary, Severo Ortega and his wife, Gay, and Jesse Gonzales; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Ryan Soto, Austin Soto, Jake Soto, Alyssa Soto, Pete Martinez, and Alfonso Guajardo.
