Cliffie Bertelsen Drucke

CLIFFIE DRUCKE Cliffie Bertelsen Drucke, 97, a registered nurse and longtime Waco resident died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Providence Park Chapel with the Rev. Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Drucke was born in Bosque County on Nov. 21, 1906, to the late Martin Jack and Alice Tergerson Bertelsen, the second of seven children. She attended Cranfills Gap schools and Providence School of Nursing, graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1926. She was in the nursing profession until 1969, when she retired from the V.A. Hospital after 22 and a half years of service. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis F. Drucke; brother, William B. Bertelsen; sisters, Travis Langford and Frances Carlin; nieces, Lani Roberts and Virginia Tyler; and great-nephew, Marcus Tyler. Survivors include her three sisters, Alle Mae Tyler of Clifton, Virgie Denton of Houston and Margie Rhoades of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Etta Mae Bertelsen of Clifton; nieces, Christabel Jorgenson of San Marcos, Bettye Spears of Waco and Alice Rhoades of Houston. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Bellamy Bertelsen of Clifton, Bill Denton of Houston, Frank Tyler of Denton, Ron Spears, Chris Spears and Jim Alvarado of Waco. Honorary pallbearers will be O. Jan Tyler of Dallas, Richard Troll of Bedford and Jay Denton of Houston. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th St., Waco, TX 76708.
