December 19, 1906 — January 24, 2002

GWIN, SR., CLYDE W. Clyde W. Gwin, Sr., age 95, of Waco, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30PM Monday, January 28 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Steve Ramsdell of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with family will be 6:00-8:00PM Sunday, January 27 at the funeral home. Mr. Gwin was born December 19, 1906 near Oenaville, Texas, where he attended school. He attended Texas A & M University in 1929. He married Stella Daily of Palo Pinto, Texas, formerly of Oenaville, where her father pastored the First United Methodist Church. He and his family moved to Waco in 1941. He worked for the V.A. Medical Center. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco, also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and The American Legion Post 121. He is preceded in death by Mrs. Stella Gwin who passed away January 1985 after 55 years of marriage, also Mrs. Lucille Rinard Gwin, two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by two children, Clyde W. Gwin, Jr. of Waco and Mrs. Pat Dunham of Houston, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Doris Rector of Chilton. Pallbearers will be Alan Overton, Gene Linn, Mike Gwin, Joseph Jonietz, Bob Gwin and Carl Threadgill. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be made to Waco Methodist Home or Oenaville Cemetery Association, 8663 Oenaville Loop, Temple, Texas 76501. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
