August 24, 2004 — November 29, 2022

Cody Ryan Pilgrim, 18, of Robinson, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in Waco.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Keith Reid officiating.

Cody was born August 26, 2004, in Waco. In August 2005, he and his family moved to Marine Corps Base 29 in Palms, California, where his father was stationed. In 2007, the family moved back to Waco to await their father’s retirement from the Marines. Cody attended Robinson Primary, elementary, junior high, and high school. He graduated in May 2022. Cody loved baseball and played select ball with Waco Rampage. He had a passion for sports. He also played baseball and football for Robinson High school. Away from school and sports, he loved motor cross racing. With 3 older brothers, he was always trying to keep up. This began at an early age when he learned to ride a bicycle at 2, and by 2 ½, he was riding a Yamaha PW 50 without training wheels. He continued to ride and race as a fun hobby. And he never stopped trying to keep up with his brothers.

On September 29, 2022, Cody enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was scheduled to go to boot camp in February 2023. His father had the honor and privilege to be the person to swear his son into the service. He was following his father who served 21 years in the Marines, his oldest brother Travis who is serving in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Hood, and his second oldest brother, Zachary, who is serving in the United Stated Marines and is stationed at Bangor, Washington. His brother, Nathan, is currently a student at McLennan Community College.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Pilgrim; father, Danny Pilgrim; brothers, Travis, Zachary, and Nathan; his grandmother, Naomi Hamburg; his aunt, Lisa Thomas; and uncle, Tracy Thomas.
