Corey C. Smith February 17, 1978 November 5, 2009 Corey Clinton Smith, 31, passed away November 5, 2009. Corey was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Waco at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey. He was born in Waco, Texas on February 17, 1978 to Larry and Cindy Smith. He was a 1997 graduate of Reicher Catholic High School in Waco. After moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 2002, he attended Scottsdale Culinary Institute and graduated from Artistic Cosmetology Academy. Corey entertained patrons as a bartender at several bars in Waco and most recently at the VFW of Scottsdale. He had a larger than life presence and will be most remembered for his quick wit and big hugs. He was always willing to help a friend and put the needs of others above his own. His gregarious character and compassionate nature was uniquely Corey. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Corey was preceded in death by his father, Larry G. Smith. Corey is survived by his loving mother, Cindy Smith, of Scottsdale; sisters, Shannon Smith and husband, Rod, of Waco, Stephanie Smith of Houston, Dawn Smith of Minneapolis; brother, Scott Smith of Clifton; nephews, Kolton Kendrick, Bowman and Henry Smith of Waco, and Tommy Peckinpaugh of Houston; nieces, Julie Smith of Waco, Angie, Hannah, and Mikayla Smith of Minneapolis; grandparents, Charles & Dorothy Turner of Waco; many aunts, uncle and cousins. He loved all animals and often referred to his beloved dogs, Chin-Dee and Cassie as his "kids".
