After a short battle with leukemia, Corkey McDaniels, Jr., of Woodway passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas. Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, at Robinson Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Corkey was born November 24, 1942, in Waco, Texas, to A. D. and Rose Margaret McDaniels. He was a long-time member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 529, where he also taught apprenticeship school. He was also a Past Master of James H. Lockwood Masonic Lodge No. 1343. Corkey also spent many years as a salesman for Equipment Depot in Waco before retiring. During retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Jarrell McDaniels. He is survived by his wife, Candy; two daughters, Stacey and husband, Charlie Herrin, of Woodway, and Randee and husband, Mark Klingele, of Corinth, Texas; son, Jason McDaniels and wife, Claire, of Woodway; and grandchildren, Chad and Adam Herrin, Mallory Klingele, and Reagan and Reese McDaniels.
