C.R. Mostyn, Jr. of Nederland passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. C.R. was born August 16, 1924 in Waco, Texas to Clarence and Dora Mostyn. He served his country as a B-24 Commander and Liberator Pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and retired as an Air Force Reserve Major. He also served his community on the Zoning Boards of Port Neches and Nederland, Texas; as a City Councilman and Mayor of Nederland, and President of the Mid County Municipal League. Among his many accomplishments he was valedictorian of Lyford High School graduating class, graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was a Construction Engineer for Texaco and Union Oil, was the Coordinator of Construction of the Talledega Motor Speedway, and was Chief Inspector of the Beaumont Refinery of Union Oil. C.R. was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Mostyn, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Nederland, TX; his sister, Doris Roberts of Lorena, TX; his brother, Claude of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
