Curtis George Thomas February 26, 2971 March 20, 2010 Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery . Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Curtis George Thomas was born February 26, 1971, in Philadelphia, Pa. His Father, Clarence George Thomas, preceded him in death in 1975. His mother, Ernestine Bass Thomas Henley, married Nelson R. Henley in 1983, which united the Thomas and Henley family to create one family. Curtis received the Lord at Glenkirk Presbyterian Church in Glendora, California in 1982. In 2004 while attending the school for the blind in Austin Texas, Curtis met a fellow student, the former Rebecca Rincones of Lyford, Texas. Curtis and Rebecca married September 17, 2005. In 2007 Curtis and Rebecca moved to Waco, and united with The Word of Life Christian Church. Curtis was a part of the Sound Ministry, The Voices of Praise, and The Praise Team. When Curtis became sick, they returned to Waco, from a short stay in Harlingen, TX. Upon his return, the choir went to the hospital, where an impromptu concert began with Curtis leading the fun. His membership in the choir was reestablished and When "The Men's Voices of Victory" was formed his place as a member was established also. Curtis leaves to mourn, a devoted wife, Rebecca; his mother, Ernestine Bass Thomas Henley; two sisters, Lisa Thomas Anthony Marc of Ontario, CA and Dana Henley, of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Nelson Henley, Jr. Tanya of Upland, CA, and Reginald Henley Dionne of San Antonio, TX; five uncles, Lawrence Thomas, William Bass, Stephen Bass, Harvey Bass and Talmadge Hayes; four aunts, Josella Thomas Abrams, Barbara Bass Jackson, Melvina Bass Woods and Lucile Hayes; two nieces, four nephews, numerous cousins, extended aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends.
