Dale G. Carlisle

May 10, 1956 — October 9, 2023

Dale Gordon Carlisle, 67, of The Woodlands, Texas, died peacefully on October 9, 2023, at Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 14, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St., Waco with Reverend Michael Dearman of Hope Pointe Church officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco.

Dale was born May 10, 1956, in Waco, to Melvin Gordon Carlisle and Melba Faye Smith Carlisle. Dale attended Richfield High School, McClennan Community College, and then graduated with a BBA in Management from Texas A&M in 1978. He was an avid Aggie and quick to share his love of the maroon and white. He had a lifelong passion and true gift with golf, being a scholarship athlete on the varsity men’s golf team at both MCC and Texas A&M, during which time he won the Waco City Golf Tournament in 1976.

Dale met the love of his life, Londa Sheppard Carlisle, in 1979 at Baylor University through Dale’s sister Carolyn. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married in 1982 at Miller Chapel on the Baylor campus. They shared 41 years of marriage together.

Dale and Londa had two sons, Blake, and Lance. Their two boys were their world, and they enjoyed watching their children grow with many fond memories of football, baseball, and basketball. Dale also instilled his passion for fishing and golfing in his boys, which extended to the next generation.

Although Dale loved golf, Texas A&M, and football, his favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured their time with their grandkids and loved being their Pop.

Dale was passionate about his roles as Market Sales Manager, and Key Account Sales Manager at Dr. Pepper, where he began his career in the beverage industry in 1981. In 1983 Dale and Londa moved to Houston with a promotion to Sales Manager, where he developed marketing plans for accounts in the Southwest Region of the United States until 1995.

His next role would be that of Senior Sales Development Manager for Coca-Cola USA from 1995 until 1998, which relocated the family to Edmond, Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, he secured the “Category Captain” title with the largest customer by positioning the company as most capable vendor to manage the account’s beverage category.

From 1998 through 2006 he would continue in the beverage industry with Coors Brewing and Gambrinus in Houston, Texas. His family moved back to the Houston area and settled in The Woodlands. In his later years from 2006 until 2011 he was able to pursue his love of golf, while working as General Manager at Lake Windcrest Golf Club in Magnolia, Texas. He remained in the golf industry from 2011 to 2023, at Golfsmith International and Golf Galaxy.

Dale will always be remembered for his sense of humor, wit, and the love of his family who will miss him. Dale’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Gordon Carlisle and Melba Faye Smith Carlisle.

He is survived by his wife, Londa Carlisle; his two sons, Blake Carlisle and wife, Jennifer, of Arlington, Texas, and Lance Carlisle and wife, Lauren, of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren, Jackson, Sterling, Whitten, Baige, Lorelai, and Laine; sister, Carolyn Alford; brother, Mike Carlisle, and several nephews.
