After graduating from Earlsboro High School, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. After his military service, Dale went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where he was employed for 36 years, retiring in1985. Together they enjoyed traveling, cruising, attending MCC and Mary Hardin-Baylor basketball games where Elaine’s son, Ken DeWeese, was head basketball coach, delivering Meals & Wheels and being with family and friends. Dale was an avid outdoorsman for many years. No one who ever camped with Dale could forget his gourmet cook box or forget the meals he prepared. There was no “roughin” it with the food. Everyone always looked forward to his fish fries, complete with hush puppies and all the “fixins”. He also enjoyed woodworking and always had some project for the house. Dale was a member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Kathryn; one brother, A.J.
