Former Waco resident, Dan M. Atchley, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in Oklahoma City after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 7 at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, March 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mr. Atchley was born October 7, 1934 in Troy, Texas to Jim and Ona Atchley of Waco. He graduated from Waco Technical High School and attended Baylor University. He married Ruby Freeman in 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1998. Mr. Atchley worked for over forty years in the aerospace industry as a quality assurance engineer, manager, and auditor, retiring from Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. After retirement, he moved to Lawton, Ok. Mr. Atchley was preceded in death by his wife, mother and a daughter, Pamela. Survivors include his father, James A. Atchley; sons, Dan Atchley and wife Mija of Fletcher, Ok; Stephen Atchley and wife Lisa of North Agusta, SC; brother James Atchley and wife Helen; grandsons, Stephen, Michael and James Atchley, James’ wife, Autumn and grandson, Pierson.
