Dan Taylor March 3, 1943 – August 17, 2010 Dan Taylor passed away on August 17, 2010. The memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Paul W. Powell Chapel at George W. Truett Theological Seminary located on the campus of Baylor University. He was born on March 3, 1943, in Texarkana, TX to the late Roy and Vera Taylor. Dan earned a bachelor of arts degree from Baylor University and a master’s degree in counseling and personnel from Texas Christian University, with additional graduate work at Southwestern Seminary, Texas Wesleyan University and the University of Houston. Dan was currently serving as president of the Baylor Women’s Basketball Tip Off Club for the 2010-2011 season. He was chairman of DTA Resources. He had considerable experience as an administrator, manager, educator, professional counselor and consultant. He had served as chief executive officer of one of the largest counseling and consulting companies in the southwest. He held executive management positions in several other companies, as well as being president of his own consulting company. He had been a minister, teacher, coach, and teacher trainer. Dan was a licensed professional counselor, a licensed marriage and family therapist, a certified consultant by Birkman International, Inc., and was board certified as an American Academy of Pain Management Fellow. He authored two books, The Personal Consultant Handbook for Health Professionals and The ABC’s of Stress: A Clinical Adaptation for Adolescents. Dan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Taylor and his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Molly Taylor. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to offer a tribute to Dan do so as a living memorial to the Baylor Women’s Basketball Excellence Fund.
