Dr. Daniel Breene Stanton October 20, 1928-November 2, 2008 Dr. Daniel Breene Stanton of Waco passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Dan was born October 20, 1928, to Dr. William Gerald Stanton and Katherine Breene Stanton in Leroy, New York. He attended Canisius College and graduated from the University of Buffalo Dental School. He had a career in the United States Air Force, and was the first Air Force Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He retired as a colonel in 1975. Dan moved to Waco and became dental director of the Waco McLennan County Health Dept. from 1975 until 1984. After leaving the health dept. he was a consultant for Stevens Publishing and Act 1. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Martha Stanton Geherin. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gloria Deen Stanton, the love of his life; son, Bill Stanton and wife, Nancy; daughter, Kathy and husband, David; grandchildren, Lauren and Blake Stanton; Daniel, Amy, Kyle and Michael Ambrose; adopted grandson, Steve Tchiengang; and many other loving family members. Dan's love of laughter, friends and family was contagious. He lived a life that brought joy to so many. His many jokes and stories will be remembered by all that knew him. Besides bragging on his family, Dan loved fishing and being with his friends. Pallbearers are Blake Stanton, Daniel Ambrose, Kyle Ambrose, Michael Ambrose, Steve Tchiengang and Keith Talbot. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Baker, Jim Buehrig, Dr. Robert Christian, Ron Grusendorf, Sammy Fenn, and Daryl Spiewak.
