David Carter Walker

July 25, 1966 — February 23, 2010

David Carter Walker July 25, 1966 - February 23, 2010 David Carter Walker, 43, of Waco, passed away of natural causes, Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. David was born July 25, 1966 in Waco to Weldon and Anne Walker. In Remembrance He was a bright-eyed young boy who brought enthusiasm to every activitywork or play. Building and flying remote controlled model airplanes became his passion. The older members of the local flying club seemed to delight in mentoring the youngest member of the club. He seemed to have a natural talent for flying. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal School, graduated from Richfield High School in the class of 84, and attended Baylor University. While a student at Baylor he worked part-time for Cellular-One as a salesman. His innate technical skills, his enthusiasm for his job and a love of people seemed to be perfectly matched to the emerging cellular phone business. Success came quickly for this young man as he moved up to even more challenging jobs: sales manager, general manager, and a regional manager over several cities. Over the next several years he lived in numerous cities and states, growing with an industry that was experiencing phenomenal growth. As growth slowed and consolidation took place in the industry, the job market became more challenging. The last year and a half was difficult for David and for those of us who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Anne Thompson Allen; and his father, Weldon Walker and wife, Barbara, of Waco; step-sister, Paige McGlothlin and husband, Jeff of Aledo, TX; step-sister, Jennifer Baker of Frisco; step-sister, Lisa Breedlove and husband, Randy of San Antonio; and step-sister, Judy Bennett and husband, Mac of The Woodlands; step-brother Austin Cooper and wife, Edie of Ft. Worth; nieces and nephews, Erin, Ian and Maggie McGlothlin and Wyatt and Katy Baker. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com. Dear David, "May the Lord bless you and keep you, may his face shine upon you, and give you peace." Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
