David E. Portwood

PORTWOOD, DAVID E. David E. Portwood, 45 of Bellmead died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at his residence. Services will be at 1:30pm Monday, June 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation will be from 3 to 5pm Sunday, June 13 at the funeral home. Mr. Portwood was born in Covington, Kentucky March 14, 1959. He was a graduate of Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky. He entered the military after high school and retired after twenty years. Eighteen months of his service time was spent in Desert Storm. After his retirement, he moved to Bellmead and was employed by Orkin Pest Control. He married Linda King in 1982 in Ennis, Texas. He was a great husband, father, brother and a friend to all and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Linda Portwood of Bellmead; daughter, Joy Higginbotham and husband, Ty of China Spring; son, Joshua Portwood of Bellmead; sisters, Mildred Elliott of Glencoe, Kentucky, Janet Hyde of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Linda Greenlee of Petersburg, Kentucky, Lena Portwood of Sacramento, California, and Carol Portwood of Independence, Kentucky; brothers, Raymond Portwood, William Portwood, Joe Portwood, Mike Portwood, all of Independence, Kentucky, Robert Portwood and Jerry Portwood both of Covington, Kentucky, John Paul Portwood of Italy, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
