David Lawrence Foster

David Foster of Moody, Texas, age 65, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, December 2, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd in Waco from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A service celebrating David's life and his legacy of generosity and compassion will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Foster Pecan Family Cemetery in Moody, where David will be laid to rest surrounded by the Pecan and Peach Orchard he so deeply loved. 

He was born to Larry Russell Foster and Virginia Ann Foster, and is survived by his loving wife, Rita Foster. David is also survived by his sisters, Sheri Lynn Compton and her two daughters and four grandchildren; Susan Leigh May and her two sons; and Shelly Marie Goonis and her son. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories for his family and friends. David grew up all over the United States, but Texas was his home. He served as a Ranger in the United States Army. 

He dedicated many years of his life to working at a glass bottle factory, where he became known for his strong work ethic and kind nature. Outside his career, David had a great love for animals which was a testament to his gentle and compassionate spirit. Over the years, he adopted many dogs and cats. David and his wife, Rita, also loved planting and caring for their orchard trees and building their homes. 

David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family and friends will remember him for his quiet strength, his generous heart, and his unwavering love for those around him.
