Dawn Marie Tucker

Dawn Marie Tucker, known to many as “Gigi”, 64, passed away at home on September 12, 2024.

A short service followed by a repast will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, with Earl Cumbie officiating.

Dawn was born in Waco, Texas on December 1, 1959. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1977. After she received her nursing degree from McLennan Community College she worked as a nurse and in the health care field for over 30 years. Most of her life was spent in Waco but after retiring to become a full-time grandmother (or “Gigi” as her grandkids called her) she moved to San Ramon, CA, Houston, TX and Danville, CA with her daughter Crystal and family. She had many interests throughout her life. Dawn adored traveling and visited over 20 countries. Of all her pastimes, loving and spoiling her 4 grandchildren was her favorite. She was exceptionally fun and the and most loving grandmother you could ever imagine, who would do anything to make her grandchildren smile. Dawn was friendly and outgoing. She never met a stranger and brought joy and light to all she encountered. She had an amazing sense of humor and was rarely if ever seen without that smile on her face. Dawn prioritized her family over everything and was an amazing daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.

Though she will be greatly missed we are grateful that she will be reunited with those that went before her, parents, Bill and Nancy Locklar; sister, Wendy Locklar and granddaughter, Quinn Guidry.

Her untimely death leaves a massive hole in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Crystal White and Blair Guidry of Singapore; and son, Daniel White of Waco, TX; as well as four grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Grayson, Sloane, and Emory Guidry and Brielle White. She also leaves behind a strong and amazing group of friends who were like family to her.
