November 14, 1931 — April 7, 2005

Maberry, Dean Dean Maberry, 73, of Waco, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005 at his residence. The Board and Staff of the Heart of Texas Region Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center and the Maberry family will host a come and go reception in Dean’s honor on Wednesday, April 13, from 2 to 4:00 PM at the Heart of Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, 110 S. 12 Street. Dean was born on November 14, 1931 in Talco, Texas to Geraldine and J. D. Maberry and was raised in Perryton, Texas. He was a veteran of the Korean War and for the past 30 years has served as the Executive Director of the Heart of Texas Region Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Action Planning Council which was instrumental in initiating and coordinating numerous community services in the Heart of Texas region. He served on many committees and boards and was a trustee for the Cooper Foundation. He is survived by his wife, Janette; son, David; daughter-in-law, Margo; granddaughter, Barrett; brother, David; sister, Joyce McClure and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be submitted to the Dean Maberry Memorial Fund, 110 S. 12th Street, P.O. Box 890, Waco, Texas 76703-0890.
