Denis Herbert George Howe November 15, 1922 - October 22, 2011 Denis Herbert George Howe of Waco passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011. Private services with the family are planned at a later date. Born in London in 1922 and emigrating to Rochester, N.Y., with his family in 1929, photography became his passion. He progressed from Eastman Kodak to the U.S. Navy Ordinance Photography Lab in WWII, settling in Washington, D.C. until 1963. He then managed Wilder Motion Picture Labs in Chicago. In 1971 he accepted a managerial position with NASA, processing film from many of the Apollo Moon Missions, including "Earthrise". He retired as vice president for Technicolor in 1989. For the next 10 years he settled in Galveston Bay and continued to dance regularly with his high school sweetheart, Adeline Batson Howe. He and Addie moved to Waco in 1999, to be close to their daughter's family. He lived 11 years beyond Addie's death, continuing to dance, delightfully entertaining his family, and to enjoy every day fully. His family, daughter, Diane Howe Springer and husband, Robert, grandson, Jason Springer, granddaughter, Tiffany Surley and all five great grandchildren, Preston and Carson Springer, Taurel, Traveler, and Summer Surley, will miss him, but his soul rests in our family's legacy. The world is a better place because of the 88 years Denis Howe was among us. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WilkirsonHatchBailey.com.
