Denver Ray Price April 25, 1942 - May 21, 2006 Denver Ray Price of Waco passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with Rev. Rex Bland and Rev. Buddy Sipe officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m.Tuesday, May 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Denver was born April 25, 1942 in Del Rio, TX to Allen and Hazel Price. He was the youngest of four children. Denver attended and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1960 and also attended San Angelo State University. Denver and Loretta Hull Price were married on August 31st, 1962 in Roby, TX. After multiple moves the couple settled in Waco where he spent 40 years with Southwestern Bell. Denver and Loretta were active in multiple church families with treasured friends from churches across the state. At the time of his death their membership was with Olive Branch Baptist Church. In between singing engagements he was known to visit the golf course a “few” times, winning the Waco City Golf Championship. Denver was best known in the Central Texas area for his southern gospel music ministry. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl, his father, Allen Price, his step father, Wes Hardy, his father-in-law, E. Burn Hull and great grandchild, Danielle Smith. He is survived by his wife Loretta of Waco, three daughters: Tammy and Mike Smith, Deborah Maraggia and Toby Popp and Melissa and Terry Corporon, as well as 10 grandchildren: Dustin, Shena, Lance, Nathan, Brandon, Austin, Carson, Kirsten, Jaden and Carmen. Also surviving are his mother, Hazel Price Hardy, mother-in-law, Lorene Hull, our adopted Waco mom, Jean Basham and siblings: Bill Price, Sue Lofton and Jerry Price.
