Dessie Katherine McCall September 2, 1920 - November 26, 2012 Dessie Katherine McCall of Temple, formerly of Waco, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at Santa Fe Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, November 30, Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Dessie was born September 2, 1920 in Shamrock, Texas, to Matt and Mayme Sweet Lewis. She grew up in Shamrock and graduated from Texas Tech. She taught school in Shamrock, Stephenville and Breckenridge, before moving to Waco in 1966. She began her real estate career in 1966 and established McCall Realtors in 1969. She retired in 1981. She achieved the title of Life Master as an accomplished bridge player. Dessie was a lifelong Methodist. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Scott R. McCall; and her brother, Winfred Lewis. She is survived by her son, Lewis S. McCall and wife, Debbi, of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Jeff McCall and Amy McCall; and several dear nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice.
