Dianne Deckard Jones passed away at her home Sunday, September 4, 2022. Services will be held Saturday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m., at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to visitation the prior evening, Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey.
Dianne was born on November 4, 1947, to Lee and Bernice Deckard in Waco. She graduated from La Vega High School in 1966. She was a dedicated employee of Brazos Electric Coop for 35 years.
Dianne, who never met a stranger, met Frank Jones at The Grape in Waco in 2004. The couple were married in Salado on March 10, 2006. She and Frank were avid travelers. She traveled, either with Frank or with friends, all over the world. She enjoyed trips to The Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Caymans, France, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Norway, Russia, and Mexico.
When not traveling, she loved socializing with friends in and around Waco, meeting at the Blue Dog and her regular Friday lunches. And when at home, she adored her four-legged family. Before Dianne died, she never missed an opportunity to live.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice, and Lee. She is survived by her husband, Frank; son, David Linder, of Waco; brother, Alan Deckard and wife, Vicki, of Waco; stepdaughter, Wendy Kramer and husband, Dan, of Flower Mound; stepdaughter, Jaime Nelson, of Austin; and two step-grandsons, Sam and Oliver Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Ted Teague, Jim Allmon, Bob McEachern, Jim Alexander, Kent Keahey, and Bob Kramolis.
