Dock L. Burnette

DOCK L. BURNETTE Dock L. Burnette, 86, died Wednesday May 1, 2002 at home on his ranch near Aquilla. Graveside services will be 11:00am Saturday May 4th at Oakwood cemetery, with Rev. Ben Disney officiating. Services under the direction of Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. Dock was born August 28, 1915 in Martin Mills to Dock Lee and Mary Maude McFarland Burnette. The family moved to Waco where he was a graduate of Waco High School class of 1935 and later 4-C Business College. He married Boyce Gage December 2, 1938. Captain Burnette was a pilot in the Army Air Corp during WWII. After the war he owned and operated Burnette Insulation Co. in Waco, for a number of years. In 1973 he moved to his ranch in Hill Co. close to Aquilla and has been farming and ranching ever since. He was member of Central United Methodist Church in Waco. Survivors: Wife: Boyce G.
