Donald Bachus

BACHUS, DONALD Donald Bachus, age 73, of China Spring died Monday, October 15, 2001 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30PM Thursday, October 18th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Alan Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday, October 17th at the funeral home. Mr. Bachus was born September 11, 1928 in Cross Plains, TX to James L. and Edna Pierce Bachus. He worked for Morrison-Knudsen Co., Boise, Idaho, as a construction manager. He worked on international construction projects in Peru, Papua, New Guinea, South Vietnam, as well as many state side projects. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Waco Gem and Mineral Club. He loved to work and was always busy. He had many interests and enjoyed anything that included working with this hands. He loved the outdoors, flying, and any building project. He shared and taught his many talents to his family and friends. He will be remembered and cherished as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Survivors include: wife, Byrl Ann Bachus of China Spring, daughters, Irma Sampson and husband, Don of Meridian, Cynthia Moore of Waco, and Elizabeth Adams and husband, Brantley of Tullahoma, TN, sons, Burl Bachus of Meridian and Lee Bachus and wife, Dana of Waco, grandchildren, Hilary Haralson, Jason Haralson, Kellis Sampson and wife, Denise, Stephanie Shallbetter and husband, Todd, Heather Graham and husband, Steve, Jeremy Moore, Mandy Petersen and husband, Bill, Matthew Adams, Haley Adams, Kara Adams, Justin Bachus and Nathan Bachus, great grandchildren, Hayden, Hannah, Landon, Josh, and Katie, sister, Melba Balwick of Montrose, CO, brothers, James Bachus of Stephenville and Doug Bachus of Rockport, mother-in-law, Eva Gist of Waco, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lee Bachus, Don Sampson, Brantley Adams, Jason Haralson, Matthew Adams and Justin Bachus. Honorary pallbearers are Burl Bachus and Nathan Bachus.
