Donald Chisholm December 15, 1934 – March 13, 2006 Donald Chisholm, 71, passed away Monday, March 13, 2006 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, March 16, at Waco Memorial North Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Donald was born December 15, 1934 in Warwick, RI to Donald and Dorothy Allen Chisholm where his father was caretaker of Goddard Memorial State Park for 43 years. He attended schools in Warwick, RI, and then joined the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Part of his service time was spent at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco as a jet engine mechanic. After his discharged from the service, he was a plumber for 20 years. Then he bought an 18 wheeler truck and owned and operated his own business for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and working with his 1964-½ Mustang. He was a member of American Legion Post #121 in Waco and the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union #51 in Providence. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara Johnson, brother, Tom Chisholm and granddaughter, Kerri Chisholm. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Waco, sons: James Chisholm and wife, Terri of Stevensville, MT; Robert Chisholm of Axtell, TX; stepson, Scott Smith and wife, Trish of Georgia; daughters: Donna Kelley and husband, Mark of Trinidad, TX, Judy Rayvon and husband, Cruz Avila of Waco; a sister, Phyllis Kettelle of North Kingston, RI; mother-in-law, Ruby Brown of Waco; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and his beloved Boston Terrier, Tasha. Special thanks to Dr. O’Kani and Hillcrest Community Hospice for their excellent care, especially Judy and Christi.
