Kobbeman, Donald D. February 12, 1926 – September 29, 2005 Donald Kobbeman, 79 of Woodway, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005 at St. Catherine’s. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 3, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell and Walter Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 2 at the funeral home in the Garden Room. Donald was born on February 12, 1926 in Lincoln, Kansas, the son of Arthur E. and Reva K. Grace Kobbeman. He attended Lincoln schools and after graduating from Lincoln High School in 1944, he entered the Navy and was attached to the Naval Armed Guard of the Pacific. Following his discharge after the war, he entered Kansas State University and received a degree in Chemical Engineering. Hired by Phillips Petroleum Co., he worked at their Borger, Texas refinery for three years and transferred to Phillip’s Rocket Fuels Division to open their plant in McGregor, Texas. He worked at that facility for 37 years and with four different contractor/operators at this facility. On June 15, 1963, he married Miriam L. Hoffman at Lisburn Methodist Church in Lisburn, Pa. They have made their home in Woodway since 1965. Donald retired from the Hercules Aero-Space division in 1991. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Waco, Texas and the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Survivors are his wife Miriam and a sister, Norma J. Ciabattoni and her husband, Joseph, of Upland, Ca. and two nieces and four nephews. Special to the family are Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Blasche, Jr., of Waco. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Memorial Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Waco.
