Donald Fisher January 6, 1940 - April 22, 2014 Donald Fisher, 74, of Waco passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, surrounded by his family. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Harold Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6:00 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Donald was born January 6, 1940, in Falls County to Anton J. Fisher and Ida M. Ludwig Fisher, then moved to Port Lavaca and later back to Waco. In 1963, he married Dorothy Maricle and they enjoyed over 50 years together. Don worked for J.M. Woods Mfg., before going to work for McLennan County Sheriff's Department, retiring after 20 years of service. Don's greatest love and joy was his children and grandchildren. He was an avid "Bluegrass Fan," enjoying the wonderful gospel music, a love he was passing on to his children. He also enjoyed fishing for the "big" catfish. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Benny, Lawrence and Leon Fisher; and sister, Annie M. Butler. He is survived by loving wife, Dorothy of Waco; children, Donna Berry and husband, Ricky, Teresa Walker and husband, Charles, and Mark Fisher and wife, Lisa; six grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Berry, Tyler, Madison and Kaitlyn Walker, and Lanie Fisher; sister, Lois Morton; brothers, Tommy Fisher and Albert Fisher; and his two best friends, "Jake" and "Max". Pallbearers are McLennan County Sheriff's Honor Guard. A special thanks go to the 6th floor nursing staff at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
