Donald Ray Kyser

February 9, 1946 — January 26, 2025

Waco

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Ray Kyser, who was born on February 9, 1946, and departed this life on January 26, 2025. He lived a full life, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Don’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on February 1, 2025, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey in Waco, Texas, with Scott Talley officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service.

Donald Ray Kyser, affectionately known as Don and PaPa, was a voice recognized throughout the Central Texas area for over 50 years as a radio personality for KWTX and WACO radio, and as “the voice” of the Texas Farm Bureau Radio Network. When not working, he enjoyed attending his sons' sporting events, where he was often found cheering from the sidelines. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and working on projects around the house, especially in the yard.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Charlie L. Kyser, and his mother, Roberta Kyser.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his devoted sons, Kevin (and wife, Richi) and Keith (and wife, Sheila). He also leaves behind grandchildren: Kaleb (and wife, Molly), Chandler (and wife, Shannon), Max (and wife, Madie), and Hudson. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Donald Montgomery. Papa was able to see the birth of a sixth great-grandchild, which brought a smile to his face.

Don’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We invite you to leave a message or memory in Don’s “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
