Donald Sims, 76, of China Spring, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday, May 10 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with the Rev. Speedy Wible officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Monday, May 9 at the funeral home. He was born April 30, 1929 to James and Ethel Sims. He lived most of his life in Waco. He retired from the City of Waco after 35 years. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, E. J. Sims and Buddy Sims, and two sisters, Gadys Franklin and Evelene Sims. He is survived by his wife, Pat Sims of China Spring; sons, Steve Sims and wife, Liz of East Bernard, Texas and Mark Sims of China Spring; daughters, Elaine Wible and husband, Speedy and Debbie Lewis and husband, Mike, all of China Spring; 13 grandchildren; sister, Ethel Sis Royer of Lillington, North Carolina; brothers, Marshall Sims of Waco, Bill Sims of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Bobby Sims of Hubbard, and Charles Ray Sims of Santa Maria, California. He will be missed by all who knew him.
