Donald William Swaner of Waco passed away Friday, June 16, 2017. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 23, at Axtell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Donald was born March 27, 1941, in Waco to Bill Swaner and Opal DeHay. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He worked in the Parts Department of Bird-Kultgen 1963 to 1975, and for M&M Mars from 1975 until retirement in 2000. He was a 50-year member and Past Master of M. Denton Stanford Masonic Lodge #594 in Lorena, and was District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 61-A. Donald was preceded in death by parents. He is survived by his wife, Berlene of Robinson, Texas; brother, Steamer Swaner and wife, Marsha, of Waco; two daughters, Elizabeth Swaner of Valley Mills, Texas, and Jennifer Smith and husband, Nathan, of Round Rock, Texas; two sons, Mac Swaner and wife, Julie, of Alaska and Marc Payne and wife, Teresa, of Robinson; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
